What's the Last Comic You Read?

Just like the movie and TV threads, here's one for comics!

The Walking Dead, darned if I can remember the exact issue number. I think I'm about two backlogged: they're in my Kindle App, just haven't got to them yet.

Read Superman 19 & Action Comics 976, the wrap-up to Superman Reborn. Ever since the beginning of the New 52, Superman's been a bit of a mess. So much so that DC had to bring back the Pre-52 Superman to right the ship. In Reborn, they have now merged the two histories, making Pre-52 Superman the *only* Superman of the DCU.

Honestly, I think DC's really been doing a good job with Rebirth. It'll be interesting to see how things progress with this change to Superman.

I also read the most recent issues of Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps, Suicide Squad & The Flash, as well as issues 21-25 of Superman-Batman.

Looks like the last comic I read was Optimus Prime #5. The only books I read regularly any more are the Transformers ones - everything else I wait for trades to go on sale or wait for for them to hit Comixology Unlimited.

Everyone should check out Saga. It's really great so far. I just finished the fourth volume and its definitely not losing steam.

Definitely one of the greatest comics ever made, imho.

Read through the Rebirth Blue Beetle series.

One of the lesser Rebirth titles I've read so far. Just kinda bland. I've always been more of a fan of Ted Kord than Jaime Reyes, and even though they're both in this series, this isn't like the Ted Kord of old. So-so title so far.

Birds of Prey 81-83
Midnighter and Apollo 1-6
Batman 639-642

The Midnighter and Apollo series was pretty good. Basically, Apollo is taken to Hell and Midnighter must fight his way through Hell to Neron to save him. They brought in Mawzir, from the great Ennis book Hitman. Good miniseries.

The first few issues of the recent Raven miniseries. Never been a fan of the character.

These days I really just read collected series's (trade paperbacks, as we called them back in the day, or TPB).

Right now, I'm in the middle of sevaral:

- The Immortal Iron Fist - Wanted to know more about the character heading into the Netflix show. Man, this series kicks all sorts of ass, and is really what the show should've been.
- Guardians of the Galaxy - TPB from....2012? I think that's right...or maybe '08. In any event, like with Iron Fist, I wanted to read this heading into the FIRST movie, but I never finished it. Shame. It's quite good, and I need to revisit it soon.
- Daredevil: Visionaries vol. 3 - The 3rd Frank Miller TPB. Started this prior to season 2 of the Netflix show, but never finished. Excellent.
- The Star Wars - Comic book story telling of the early draft of Star Wars...with Luke Starkiller and a green skinned lizard type Han Solo. Very interesting, but not blowing me away. Still worth checking out.

I have been behind on my comics for a long time, but last week I read Walking Dead novels volumes 15 to 19.
I have Volume 25 staring at me, begging to be read, but I am still waiting to get 20 to 24 as they are on hold at the library.

Descender vol 1. Wasn't blown away by the story but pretty start. Art and panel direction is top notch.

Been reading the Batman - Arkham Unhinged digital series the last few days. It was a nice supplement to the Arkham games.

Oh, boy...haven't read comics regularly in a while. The last, and this was sometime last year I think, was probably the first couple issues of DC's Injustice. Or maybe some digital Star Trek comics.

I read the first TPB of the latest Marvel Darth Vader series, after Amazon finally coughed up my pre-order copy a week or so ago. What was the title, of the arc, at least? "Imperial Machine"? It was...so-so. I found the idea that a red-bladed Sith lightsaber was the product of making a regular saber's crystal "bleed" ridiculous. More and more, I think books, periodicals, discs, downloads--everything--should come with a clothes pin, for the nose, that is.
