GO TO LAST POST FOR UPDATES

It's in it's "Trying to send it to Nathan Butler" stage but my computer
is giving me some problems so there will be a little wait. Hopefully it
will make it onto the internet somehow. If not StarWarsFanworks.com
then I'll have to wait until I can get a website for it.

NOTE: Remember, Audio Dramas are made for enjoyment, not necessarily for
accuracy. When I made this I wasn't caring about what was going on when, I just
made a date and took it. So that means no contradictions please.

Star Wars: Conquest of the Empire is a new series that takes place four
years after the events of Revenge of the Sith. The Emperor is growing
more powerful by the day but his thirst for power and control are still strong.
Henceforth, Palpatine sends his apprentice Darth Vader to begin a conquest of
non-imperial-controlled systems, beginning with the peaceful H'rahk Sector located
just outside the Expansion Region. But unbeknownst to the Empire, this sector is
under the protection of the rising Rebel Alliance.

Chapter I (in its "sending" stage) covers the first part of the battle of the first H'rahk moon on which the rebels have taken the Imperial invasion forces by
surprise while under the disquise of harmless civilians.
Rebels Captain Ledok, Captain Jaden Dodonna, Commander Kirkson, Mon Mothma
and others are immediately drown in hard decisions about how to stall the Imperials until Jaden Dodonna's father arrives with the Rebel reinforcements.
Approx. Running Time: 9:51

As soon as you're back on AIM again, contact me, and let's get that file resuming. I've got the first half of it after the transfer the other night. I'm also going to look for an easy WAV to MP3 converter program that you can use on your end that might keep us from needing to do so again.

www.musicmatch.com has a great mp3 player with a built in converter. I believe there are plugins from winamp as well that can do it.

Can Audacity? those are all free, and they dont' cost anything.

Audacity has an MP3 converter, but when I try to use it, it says my computer doesn't have an MP3 encoder and that I have to buy one.

I noticed that when we recorded with Audacity at ConCarolinas. Strange.

At any rate, I just sent you an email that has a link to a freeware encoder.

And it's OUT! Chapter 1 has been released . . .

http://www.starwarsfanworks.com/conquest.html

Congrats on your first completed audio drama chapter, Joe! Welcome to the family.

EDIT:

Except the way it's named, the link isn't working correctly. Gah. The file is there, but the coding works strange because there are spaces in the name. Gonna have Joe rename the file so that we can get it through the site. Worked fine via Outlook Express...

The file is renamed and the new link has been sent to Nathan. Now we are just waiting for the link on StarWarsFanworks.com to be replaced. Sorry for the delay.
If it continues to be unsuccessful, I will have to figure out a different way of uploading it.

For whatever reason, it still didn't work. I don't know if it's the webhost not allowing external links or what. Not sure what the deal is.

So, until we figure it out, I'm just going to host the file on Fanworks. The entire production shouldn't take up more than about 1 - 2% of my webspace, and I doubt the bandwidth issues will be too bad, so we're good to go.

You can download it now. The Fanworks internal link works fine.

Joe, as new chapters are finished, just transfer them to me via either the freewebs upload or via AIM transfer, and we'll get them up on the server. 5 eps of 10 min or so each is no huge deal. S'cool.

Sweet. Thanks for the help, Nathan.

Hope you all enjoy. Just remember that because it's my first audio drama,
the sound isn't wonderful, especially in the first half. For some reason some
of the voices are too quiet. But by the second half, it starts getting better.
The Chapter II script is currently in the works!

This is no big deal, but I thought I'd pull a Lucas/Spielberg and rename
my production company after my first production. As of yesterday, the Audio
division of Force Flow Unltd. is now titled
COTE Audio Productions (COTE is just pronounced "Cody")
