Yeah. I won't be staying away from spoilers. Want to have all the info I can get to decide whether I go to see it or not.

Re: Star Trek - From TOS to Discovery and Beyond
So I've seen another two episodes of Discovery (episodes 2 and 3). The season is getting more interesting to me with each episode, though I'm still not convinced or won over yet. Episode 2 felt like a nice throwback to TOS episodes with the crew finding a town very reminiscent of those in Earth's pa...

Re: Last Television Show Watched
I liked it! Though some plot elements were predictable, the series as a whole wasn't. The money put into the series, the effort and the actors made it worthwhile. I was glad to see not only Julian Glover, but Diana Rigg in such a prominent role (and my favorite Swedish actor, Max von Sydow also mad...

Re: Star Wars Episode VI Return of the Jedi
JJ Abrams managed to rhyme to some degree, but the rhyming between the OT and the ST got shot out of the water with TLJ (that movie rhymes better with Spaceballs ). And as we've discussed in other threads, Abrams/Kasdan took it too far in TFA, too note-for-note and too intrinsic to the backbone of ...

Re: Star Trek - From TOS to Discovery and Beyond
If you search for an application called ShowBox you can watch it on there Thanks. I've got a few more weeks on my free month of All Access, so for now I'm good. I'll gauge whether I want to continue with Discovery after a couple more episodes. So I watched the first episode of season 2 last night w...

Re: Star Wars Episode VI Return of the Jedi
Caught a bit of ROTJ over the weekend, the scene on Endor where Vader and Luke are talking. Luke I think had his back turned and Vader ignited Luke's saber. I thought of the scene in ROTS where Palpatine has his back turned, asking "are you going to kill me?", when Anakin ignited his own saber. Not ...

Re: Star Trek - From TOS to Discovery and Beyond
So I signed up for a free month of All Access to get the CBS NFL playoff games. Last night, my brother and I attempted to watch the first episode of Discovery's new season, but were stymied by the app on Roku not working right (and the website too). We'll maybe give it another try tonight. One of th...

Re: What SW are you looking forward the most 2019?
The April SW Celebration in Chicago will be at the top of my SW list for 2019. I suppose maybe the video game, though I don't know anything about it. Not sure that there's much else that has me really excited.

Re: Last Movie Watched
The Predator - C+ I keep wanting to rent something and that's been maybe the top contender, but based on reviews (critics and general moviegoers), I haven't been that jazzed about seeing it. Guess I'll continue to put it off. My last was "Replicas", the Keanu Reeves sci-fi movie in which he's tryin...

Re: Last Television Show Watched
I've been doing movies so much more than television.
Last TV I watched was episodes of The Big Bang Theory. But if we're talking last new TV I watched, I guess the final season of "Voltron: Legendary Defender" on Netflix in December.

Re: Star Wars Episode IX (SPOILERS ALLOWED)
I will see it just to see how they correct the mess they have left the film in. Correct the mess? They might worsen it. I'm kind of expecting the latter. Again, there's some morbid curiosity on my part as to how much more of a mess they can create. There won't be a follow up to Solo as the film bom...

Re: Rian Johnson will create a new Star Wars Trilogy
I had planned to see Solo in theater and one of the reasons I chose not to go early was because of Episode VIII. As it happened, I didn't had a chance later to see it in theater (and I found it a bit bland and visually unappealing). I quite liked it. I'm aware of the drama with the production and t...

Re: Rian Johnson will create a new Star Wars Trilogy
Still no official confirmation, but Johnson's trilogy has been canceled according to rumors earlier this year: Cosmic Book News I'm not sure what to feel about this. I'd have likely checked out his trilogy, as it would have been standalone. I honestly would have preferred if they'd just given him t...

Re: Star Wars Episode IX (SPOILERS ALLOWED)
At this point there is no cohesive story line, and they’ve made it depressingly clear connective tissue to the OT and PT is not high on their priority list. I’m gonna see it not because I’m genuinely excited for it but because I feel obligated to because I’m invested. And that’s upsetting. Yeah, it...

Re: Star Trek - From TOS to Discovery and Beyond
So far,I've only read that it's about the next chapter in Picard's life but what does that mean? Will he be commanding yet another ship, or be an admiral commanding several, or just a retired former officer living back on his family vineyard in France? What about the other members of TNG? Nothing i...

Re: Star Trek - From TOS to Discovery and Beyond
You beat me to it... :D Yes, Star Trek is getting Marvelized and I'm not on board with it and Stewart will undoubtedly be the token old Trek actor just as Nimoy was in the reboot. Anyway, here's the link to the original story: Variety Hadn't heard the Patrick Stewart detail. If there's any chance o...

I've seen a few episodes but I need to catch up on the show. Does Vader face off with Maul on the show? SPOILERS . . . . . Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (SPOILERS ALLOWED)
1. This may not be Han and Lando's only interaction pre-OT This. "Solo" apparently takes place 10 years before ANH. Almost certainly, the plan was for "Solo" sequels. Despite the box office, I think that happens. So we'll definitely be seeing more of Han and Lando together. 2. Never got the feeling...

Borgmatrix, everyone I've discussed it with all describes it as enjoyable. That is the feeling you get left with. Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (SPOILERS ALLOWED)
It was decent. The guy playing Han did a passable job, and Donald Glover was quite good as Lando, I thought. I liked Woody Harrelson in this movie more than I expected I would, and I liked how they handled the Kira character as well. It was cool to see that Kessel Run that Han was on about in ANH, ...
