Re: The Clone Wars

Mags, Any episode already released won't be included in the new episodes. I suspect the new ones are the scripts that were meant to be part of sixth season but never fully finished before the studio shutdown manufacture.

I miss the openness from Lucas's shooting of AOTC and ROTS.
So do I Mags. Remember they did shoot both of them in Oz. Maybe our openess rubbed off. You can start a petition to make JJ shoot here.

Re: Star Wars Episode IX (SPOILERS ALLOWED)

The OS announcement has been updated to include Kerri Russell. It appears LFL are a little more open on casting. Whether it is the backlash from TLJ or the poor box office of Solo, I think they are trying to tease the old fans back. At least it saves Mark from having to lie about why he is about to ...

Considering Phasma fell into a fire ball, I'm not surprised. Someone has to die in the films.

Gwendoline still has the new Resistance tv series to fall back on since GOT is finished this coming year.

Re: Star Wars Episode IX (SPOILERS ALLOWED)

Depending on reports Keri is still in negotiations.

Billy Dee Williams has commenced cancelling convention appearances and is unsure how long he will need. This probably means he will have a bigger appearance than just a cameo. General Lando on the Falcon or reclaiming the Falcon.

Re: General Discussion Stand-Alones

Here is a link to ABC news with a quote from LFL confirming there are still unknown SW stand alones in production. Considering ABC and LFL are both owned by Disney this seems a solid rebuke to the above rumour. https://abcnews.go.com/GMA/Culture/multiple-films-star-wars-pipeline-sources/story?id=560...

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (SPOILERS ALLOWED)

Mags, having seen every episode of SW Rebels (the cartoon series) it also gives a resolution for Maul. Considering it is set just before Rogue One and ANH means there is a way for a live action to lead into to these events and be after Solo. When I first saw him, my brain quickly ran to the series o...

If you see the last few episodes of Rebels you will know Maul's fate. Maul does feature throughout the series with episodes hear and there. It makes sense with the ending of Solo.

Hmmm. I wonder if the folks at Disney have ever heard the phrase: "Brand fatigue".
Not with a franchise called Marvel they haven't. It is releasing two films within a space of two months and four within seven months. With SW, they are trying a similar formula just a little slower.

Borgmatrix, everyone I've discussed it with all describes it as enjoyable. That is the feeling you get left with. Not "it was fantastic with you being left on the edge of your seat and need to see it again". There is very little to complain about, but also very little that gets you excited.

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (SPOILERS ALLOWED)

Zapp don't forget that at the end of ANH that Han proves he has a soft spot for helping when he assists Luke in shooting the DS. Emilia sometimes made Qi'ra be a bit too much like Daenerys in attitude and she isn't the mother of dragons here. Val was under-utilised. It is an enjoyable film.

I've seen the film and enjoyed it. It is a lighthearted affair. The script could have been read as a comedy but has been shot as a drama with a few humorous lines thrown in. I now know who the villain will be in the Kenobi standalone as they pop in at the very end.
