Re: Battlefront II

I finished the campaign yesterday, MM. Kapit, I'm interested to hear your thoughts, story wise, once you have finished the campaign. Finally wrapped up the campaign last night. Overall I enjoyed it. The story is pretty cliche as far as Star Wars stories are concerned. It would've worked a lot bette...

Re: Last Movie Watched

Justice League - 5/10 An improvement over BvS, SS, and MoS but still just a shell of a movie. The CG was laughably bad throughout most of the movie, which is really great when every character in the movie requires CG at some point. Ezra Miller and Jason Momoa are the best parts of the movie. Ben Aff...

Re: Battlefront II

I'm on the last mission for the single player. It's been very short and very rushed, but I appreciate what it's done as far as storytelling is concerned. Spaceship flight is SO MUCH BETTER this time around. It's insane how much better it feels. I'll get more into multiplayer once I finish the campai...

Re: Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (SPOILERS ALLOWED)

Ok last night Hera pulled a similar move in her X wing on SWR...basically an engine stall neutral drop in space. All I’m seeing is a lot of people who are FAR more skilled pilots than Luke. If you want the canon explanation, Luke is acknowledged as an elite - possibly legendary - pilot but hasn't b...

Re: Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (SPOILERS ALLOWED)

Some want Luke to being pulling down star destroyers with the force and whipping up galaxay tornadoes to kill all the boogie men in space. It's like wtf? When did star wars become about being Superman in space? I think The Force Unleashed went a long way towards to making casual fans believe that s...

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (SPOILERS ALLOWED)

A cup from the Hawkins Theaters chain may have accidentally let slip the first image of Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo. http://www.slashfilm.com/solo-a-star-wars-story-first-look/ It appears to be a drawing or painting, or some terrible Photoshop filter of some sort, so this may not be the best first ...

Rian Johnson + More Star Wars = Sign me up.

I've been a fan of the dude for years and I'm excited that they're giving him the keys to the kingdom to establish an entirely new part of the universe.

Re: Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (SPOILERS ALLOWED)

Seriously? Or am I losing my sense of sarcasm? Why? What significance does either of them have? To me, it's like Sy Snootles vs. Salacious Crumb. What are you smoking, old tires? Or am I missing something again? I think the whole thing was an exercise in misdirection. Which makes considerably less ...

Binged Stranger Things season 2 over the weekend.

Despite slowing down in the middle and having one episode that just didn't fit, this series continues to be a ton of fun.

What will happen in IX? If what I speculate is true, will Rey be redeemed or will both she and Ben Solo die, ending the Skywalker line and the Jedi? I believe it could be the latter, but could it really go that dark?
That would be absolutely fantastic.

Re: Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (SPOILERS ALLOWED)

I think if all we saw was Rey handing the lightsaber to Luke and Grumpy Luke swinging it exactly the way he did the first time he held one in Ben Kenobi’s place in ANH I would’ve been more satisfied..... Personal preference, but I know that's a surprise I would rather have in the theater than in a ...

Re: Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (SPOILERS ALLOWED)

Tons of fun to unpack here! It seems like we're getting a giant space battle in the first act with the evacuation of D'Qar. I'm stoked for Finn v. Phasma. I hope that fight is given time to play out. I hope that little porg in the Falcon lives, and I hope we find out that he's the actual Last Jedi. ...

Blade Runner 2049 - A-

It gets a minus only for being almost 3 hours long. Otherwise it was a fantastic, absolutely gorgeous movie that holds up as one of the greatest sequels ever made.

Watched the first two episodes of Discovery last night. I enjoyed them. Probably not going to pay for the terrible CBS All Access service for it but will look for other ways to purchase it in the future. As a filthy casual fan of Trek I felt Discovery got off to a good start. It seems that most of t...

I mean, he's still a better choice than Michael Bay or even Trevorrow, but still.... It's frustrating because everything they've done since Force Awakens screams of circling the wagons. Alien: Covenant - B

The dumb people are a little less dumb then they were in Prometheus. Not the best of the franchise, but far from the worst. I am biased because I was mostly just happy to see a xenomorph again.

IT (2017) - B
I enjoyed it. Not really scary per se but that's not exactly the point of the story. Kids were all good and meshed well together. Pennywise was good - very different from the Tim Curry version which was to be expected.

Looking forward to the sequel to finish out the story.

Well, two scenes were poorly re-edited: The chase after Zam and the Yoda vs Dooku duel. Shots were rearranged (and now makes little sense), but the music wasn't so it's chopped up.

Guess who hasn't watched their Prequel Blu-Rays at all

Yes, it was the '88 Writers Guild of America strike. The episode The Child in which Troi got pregnant with a child that developed at an advanced rate was adapted from a Phase II script. That episode was AWFUL. Almost threw me off the whole series! I've been watching a series called FORTITUDE on Ama...
