Re: Star Wars Episode IV A New Hope

After multiple viewings I just now (recently) noticed that the guy in the cantina standing next to the guy smoking after Obi-Wan chops limbs off, is the same guy who is seen outside in the next shot talking to Stormtroopers (in background) and C-3PO remarks how he doesn't like the look of this. It'...

Yes, I wonder what the artist meant with the posters.
I'd guess they're going for the more Western vibe with red, so power, anger/rage, violence, etc.
I suppose you're right, but the cut-offs...

Re: Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (SPOILERS ALLOWED)

At the D23 expo, Disney released behind the scenes footage of "The Last Jedi". You see many new creatures. Love the line on what must be the last take. It's both nice and sad as you see Carrie. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ye6GCY_vqYk&feature=youtu.be Yes, it's sad to see Carrie... Love the porg...

Re: Star Wars Episode I The Phantom Menace

Let's get down to the only true issue with this film...ego. Lucas's ego got in his own way far too much with TPM. He despises writing and directing. Ok, so he decides to do both. Now, it is true that he offered the directing gig to others - Ron Howard among them - and was turned down flat it seemed...

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Maybe I ought to read that novel, "Tarkin". Has anyone here read it? Yes, I''ve read it. James Luceno is my favorite SW author, but unfortunately I found Tarkin to be something of a letdown. I found the scenes of Tarkin's training on his home planet of Eriadu to be tedious and the main plot wasn't ...

Re: Han Solo: A Star Wars Story (SPOILERS ALLOWED)

While I think it's good that Ron Howard is onboard, I think this movie is a bad idea. I don't want to see a 'young Han Solo' movie. There's a whole universe to explore, why so afraid of stepping out of familiar grounds a little? Anyway, according to The Hollywood Reporter , Lucasfilm isn't very happ...

Re: What's the last book you read?

Star Wars: Bloodline by Claudia Gray. I enjoyed this novel tremendously and it's easily the best novel of the new canon I've read. The characterization of Leia was spot-on and I really enjoyed how the novel fleshed out the political landscape and the origins of the First Order. It also made The For...

Re: Netflix

In the 80's, my family had one television set and one of the shows the family watched was Anne of Green Gables based on L M Montgomery's novels. I noticed that a new adaptation, Anne with an E , had been created by Netflix and CBC. I thought I'd watch the pilot as I really didn't think it could matc...

Re: Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (SPOILERS ALLOWED)

Mags, I wonder if it is an alternative fact. They had to know who Rey & Finn's parents are. Why Luke went to the first Jedi temple? Alternatively they fact they basically rehashed ANH and called it TFA would show no vision. Did Rian flick through GL's vision for the ST for insight for Ep 8? Yes, I'...

Re: Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (SPOILERS ALLOWED)

Well, the OT sure worked like this, but the ST isn't the OT and I must say I found this a bit weird: Rian Johnson on Twitter So there was nothing from Jar Jar or Kasdan to guide the story? Did they also lack a sense of direction? (Well, I've not hidden the fact that I'm not a fan of TFA and I wouldn...

Re: Netflix

One thing that annoys me is that Netflix in Sweden (I don't know what's it like in other areas) mostly adds lousy stand-up shows and artist biography movies/documentaries and not that many movies or television series.

Re: Star Wars Episode VIII (SPOILERS ALLOWED)

I was just looking at the trailer again. I don't think anyone's mentioned the books in this thread. If so, and this has already been addressed, well: Never mind. If not, then... Might those books be the Journal of the Whills? Yes, that is likely (at least some other Jedi literature lost to time).
