Re: What's the last book you read?

Star Wars: Bloodline by Claudia Gray. I enjoyed this novel tremendously and it's easily the best novel of the new canon I've read. The characterization of Leia was spot-on and I really enjoyed how the novel fleshed out the political landscape and the origins of the First Order. It also made The For...

Re: Netflix

In the 80's, my family had one television set and one of the shows the family watched was Anne of Green Gables based on L M Montgomery's novels. I noticed that a new adaptation, Anne with an E , had been created by Netflix and CBC. I thought I'd watch the pilot as I really didn't think it could matc...

Re: Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (SPOILERS ALLOWED)

Mags, I wonder if it is an alternative fact. They had to know who Rey & Finn's parents are. Why Luke went to the first Jedi temple? Alternatively they fact they basically rehashed ANH and called it TFA would show no vision. Did Rian flick through GL's vision for the ST for insight for Ep 8? Yes, I'...

Re: Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (SPOILERS ALLOWED)

Well, the OT sure worked like this, but the ST isn't the OT and I must say I found this a bit weird: Rian Johnson on Twitter So there was nothing from Jar Jar or Kasdan to guide the story? Did they also lack a sense of direction? (Well, I've not hidden the fact that I'm not a fan of TFA and I wouldn...

Re: Netflix

One thing that annoys me is that Netflix in Sweden (I don't know what's it like in other areas) mostly adds lousy stand-up shows and artist biography movies/documentaries and not that many movies or television series.

Can you freaking believe it? I hoped to celebrate my 15th anniversary, but find everything's changed. Still, signing up once again is an appropriate way to celebrate 15 years.

Re: Star Wars Episode VIII (SPOILERS ALLOWED)

I was just looking at the trailer again. I don't think anyone's mentioned the books in this thread. If so, and this has already been addressed, well: Never mind. If not, then... Might those books be the Journal of the Whills? Yes, that is likely (at least some other Jedi literature lost to time).

Re: Star Wars Episode VII The Force Awakens

Same thing that happened about six years before Return of the Jedi , only not as much fun. Well, four years before Return of the Jedi , but I agree. Four? 1977 to 1983...six, correct? I think you were doing Internal Chronology Math, while I was doing Release Date Math. ;) True. I thought you referr...

From what I've read there are plans for an animated show taking place between the OT and the ST, but nothing has been officially confirmed to my knowledge.

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

I've watched all the extras and was underwhelmed by them. The intros to the characters didn't tell me anything that watching the movies several times hadn't already. The others were dull. Yes, the extras were poor and frankly disappointing. I was expecting the deaths of the Rogue One team prior to ...

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

I've watched it on Blu-Ray three times in less than a week. Love Rogue One ! When I saw one of the TV-spots for ROTS, the one with Yoda saying "Twisted by the Dark Side young Skywalker has become", I was certain the wonderfully tragic piece of music in the TV-spot was for the scene when Anakin/Vader...

Re: Star Wars Rebels

Of course, they would need something to stop the clone aging process... If my math is right, wouldn't that be almost 40 years since his creation, which theoretically would mean he's physically around 80 at that point correct? As nice an idea as it is that seems like a stretch. Almost, 36 years whic...

Re: Star Wars Rebels

I truly think the series should end with Vader killing Ezra. There are certainly other endings that could be fulfilling but to end with Vader striking down Ezra and Kaanan would be the truest to the character and most powerful ending possible IMHO. That would lead into Rebels perfectly. The Jedi th...

I missed the announcement that the season would be shortened to 15 episodes. That sucks. I bet they still charge full price on iTunes for the season. Ratings must be down. Re: Star Wars Episode VIII (SPOILERS ALLOWED)

I just hope they won't mess too much with Lucas's mythology... They rejected GL ideas for the new trilogy and they have begun to bring in characters from the EU. It's like when Gene Roddenberry died, Paramount felt they had the right to leave Gene's vision behind. When George accepted $4bil for LFL...
